What do you attribute to your success?
I attribute all of the jobs, adversities, restarts and “No’s” that I thought, while in the midst of, were meant for my demise but were actually the FOUNDATION necessary for me to know what I know, do what I do and master the art of multiple businesses. Each situation has enabled me to gain knowledge and expertise in numerous fields which allows me to develop multiple revenue streams
“I could gain equal knowledge of any college or university IF I chose to.”
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
My coined phrase is that “Life was my unframeable degree!” I spent a lot of my years being made to feel that I was “less than” because I did not have a formal degree, however as I moved through life I realized that I could gain equal knowledge of any college or university IF I chose to. Inside of a class or outside on the streets my mind would still learn at an equal capacity!
What has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it?
The loss of my son. Bryant had the biggest personality, spirit and talents that the world never got to experience. His loss was huge and I wanted to shrink away and give up. But because he was my biggest cheerleader, I had to force myself to push through. I was talked about by other mothers, looked at as if I wasn’t a mother, and talked about for not “looking” as what others defined as a grieving mother! Because my purpose is helping people, walking through those negative opinions of me was extremely difficult and painful. Even though I was hurting I knew there was something bigger that I had to do and someone higher that I had to please, so I pressed on. I still grieve the loss of my son, however I am determined that I will carry on his LEGACY and voice through my own in his honor.

What advice do you have for women going through challenges?
Know you can and will make it through to the other side. Do not hide or shy away from your challenges, walk away with a lesson from them. Evaluate what the challenge is and trace the steps of how you got there THEN create a realistic “success” plan of how to overcome it. Do not skip steps of your success plan and try to rush through or you may find yourself back in the same circumstance. And “remember that even though you may find yourself within the midst of a storm, you still can take moments to dance in the rain!” – Michelle S. Thomas
What are you most proud of?
My WONDERFUL family hands down! I have the most amazing family anyone could ask for. We don’t always see eye to eye, but we never forget who we are and what we stand for. We laugh, cry, love and grow TOGETHER!
“Do not skip steps of your success plan and try to rush through or you may find yourself back in the same circumstance”
