How do you manage your work life balance?

Managing work-life balance is about getting intentional with the time you do have. Here are my top 3 ways to get intentional about time.

1. 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙥 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤 𝙣𝙤𝙩 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚, 𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪’𝙧𝙚 𝙩𝙤𝙤 𝙗𝙪𝙨𝙮. The mindset of not having enough time are stories that keep us stuck from making progress. So, instead, ask yourself, “How do you take ownership for the area in your life that you need to be more present in?”. For me, because I was working late hours, I knew that I needed to be more present in the morning for my family’s needs. So, I set a schedule for myself that allowed me to take care of family priorities in the morning.

2. 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙝𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙖𝙮 𝙉𝙊. It is about establishing boundaries. When you set limits, stick to them. Know what your boundaries are in advance so that you can plan. For instance, I know it’s acceptable to miss dinner at home with my family one night a week. But can I miss five nights in a row? The answer is NO.

3. 𝙎𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧 & 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙜𝙤. Accept that you won’t be able to finish everything on your list. Realistically, it is impossible to do everything you need to do every single day. You’ll burn out. When you choose how to spend your time best, you can accept to let go of the rest.

“The mindset of not having enough time are stories that keep us stuck from making progress.”

Who or what inspired you to start your business?

I’m a stand for “A woman’s passion has the power to change the world.” But if you want to change, it has to start with you. For me, it started within the home, with my daughter. Because I want better for my daughter, I want better for myself.

As women, we’re very nurturing, and we have a hard time prioritizing ourselves. So when we’re asked the question “What is it that you desire?” it’s never easy to admit for ourselves.

But when you ask it for the perspective of those you love, “What is it that you desire for your children?”. That response becomes easy. I started my business to empower my daughter to turn her dreams into reality, put courage over fear, and progress over perfection. That’s why I created my company, “Empowered Life & Wellness.”

“Everything we go through in life, produces a difference in our lives. “

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

The most important lesson life has taught me is that change is inevitable. Everything that we go through in life produces a difference in our lives. Change is not always easy to embrace. But it is a big part of being successful. Here are my top tips for embracing change and use it as a success tool.

  1. See the good in change. Most of the time, people think of changes, and they feel negative, like having a bill collector at your door.

  2. Adopt a mindset that views change as positive. You cannot stop change from occurring, but viewing it from a positive perspective is crucial to living a happier life.

  3. Feel yourself grow. Allowing change to happen means that you’re freeing yourself to embark on new endeavors and learn new things.

  4. Take small action steps. Start with your end goal, and reverse engineer it so you can break it down into small action steps to get to your destination. With each milestone that you can accomplish, tackle another one.

  5. If you’re going to fail, do so correctly. Failing the correct way means doing it quickly, inexpensively, and never the same way twice.

What do you attribute to your success?

What I attribute to my success is that success doesn’t happen by accident. Success occurs by decision. It’s about making an empowering decision such as how to balance your schedule, getting intentional with time and the money you want to make, who you keep in your life, and what you need to let go of

“Do what motivates you, what inspires you, what makes your heart race.”

What advice do you have for women going through challenges?

Find your potential and do whatever it is that encourages you to develop that potential, whatever it is that helps you improve. Do what motivates you, what inspires you, what makes your heart race. Do the things that ignite passion in your bones. Push through the fear, the obstacles, and the challenges. What’s on the other side of that door is worth it.

Why is woman to woman empowerment important to you?

A woman’s story has the power to change the world. When you believe in a woman’s abilities and capacity, you empower her and give her the inspiration to overcome any obstacle placed in her path. As a result, she creates the possibility for impact in her own life and the lives of others she’s touched.
