Read Katrina’s Q&A Interview with us and be inspired.
Who or what inspired you to start your business?
What inspired me to start my business is honestly my family. I grew up with examples of strong, hard working, resilient women, and becoming a mother myself I knew I had to become better for my children. I want to break the cycle of generational trauma. I want to show my children anything is possible. I believe there’s a reason for everything that happens in our lives and my purpose is to share my story to help those that may be going through similar challenges.
“I know there’s someone out there that can benefit from me sharing my story, even if it’s just one person It would be very selfish of me to hold it in.”
What motivates you when you are faced with adversity?
My children motivate me. I owe them to break the cycle for them and start building generational wealth for them. I look at them daily and just know they do deserve so much more. I also want to set the example for them that whatever it is they want out of life, it’s possible and mama didn’t raise no quitter! I know there’s someone out there that can benefit from me sharing my story, even if it’s just one person It would be very selfish of me to hold it in
“There’s nothing I can do for myself, that God can’t do better..”
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
The most important lesson life has taught me so far is to trust God! There’s nothing I can do for myself, that God can’t do better. I’ve always loved the saying “Men plan, God laughs!” I feel like that was my life for a long time. Also, Let God handle all your battles!
What do you hope to accomplish in the near future?
In the near future I hope to be a bestselling author, I hope to have a successful women empowerment business that changes lives by giving a safe space for others to share their stories and in turn use it for their betterment.
“It’s important to learn from one another and to be seen, heard and hold each other up.”
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of my resiliency. I have encountered many reasons to give up in life, I have gone through many things that I even contemplated ending my life not once but on 2 different occasions. I am proud of myself for being here today in spite of it all.
Why is woman to woman empowerment important to you?
Woman to woman Empowerment is important to me because it allows us to share our experiences and give us the comfort to know we are not alone. It’s important to learn from one another and to be seen, heard and hold each other up. We should be able to form a sisterhood to celebrate the good times and to support in the not so good times.
