Journal Your Financial Thoughts

Hi, I’m Crystal L. Lee. A Life Strategist, Women’s Mentor, Philanthropist, Speaker, Thought Leader, and founder of Finishing School. An online Mentoring and Discipleship program for Christian women. Above all, I am a developer of people with a commitment to guide those I serve into spiritual maturity.

The goodness and mercy of God in the financial realm has been a liberating experience.

My biggest challenge has been overcoming financial trauma. Fighting financial “demons” in my own strength for years left me stressed and exhausted, both mentally and financially.  It was only through coming to the end of myself and yielding myself to Christ’s redemptive work in my finances, was I able to see transformation on that front.  Coming to a true revelation of the goodness and mercy of God in the financial realm has been a liberating experience.

Designate quiet time and space to journal your financial thoughts

If you are experiencing financial distress or trauma, designate quiet time and space to journal your financial thoughts.  This could be over a period of hours, days, or weeks.  Write down the earliest memory you have about finances or about money.  Using a stream of consciousness technique where you record thoughts as they come, continue writing as many memories as possible that come to mind about finances.  Record your thoughts and feelings about this subject, while listing any current financial needs. Once your journaling is complete, put it aside for a day or two.  Pray to the Father to reveal mindsets that are contrary to HIS provision.  Read through your journal now with that expectation in mind.  Be sensitive to note any recurring thought patterns or themes that emerge.  Locate scriptures that address these themes and declare truth over your finances. Take your time; do not rush.

Knowing that another sister has faced and overcome the same issues is uplifting.

Woman to woman empowerment is important because it offers the support that women need to thrive and grow. Platforms of empowerment are like a freshly groomed garden area with rich, fertile soil.  Seeds sown in that space will prosper because the environment is conducive to growth.  That type of support is so vital. Often, women may believe that they are alone in the challenges they face. Knowing that another sister has faced and overcome the same issues is uplifting.
